This week-long art class invites participants to immerse themselves in the beauty and tranquility of the Dawson College campus Peace Garden as a living source of inspiration.

Each day, students will explore a different artistic approach to interpreting nature—ranging from observational drawing and expressive painting to mixed media and text-based work.

Mornings will be spent sketching and gathering visual references outdoors, focusing on elements such as light, texture, plant forms, and natural patterns.

In the afternoons, participants will return to the studio to develop their work, experimenting with materials and techniques that reflect their personal responses to the garden environment.

Guided discussions and gentle prompts will encourage mindfulness, creativity, and connection to place.

By the end of the week, each student will have created a small body of work that captures their unique experience of nature, culminating in an informal sharing and an in-studio exhibition.
