This 40-hour course, designed for adults, corresponds to Level 1 of the Quebec Language Competency Scale (equivalent to the first part of A1 in the Cadre Européen scale). It is intended for individuals with no prior knowledge of French.

The goal of the course is to provide the basic language skills necessary to communicate in simple everyday situations. The program aims to build a solid foundation by focusing on the four core skills: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking, and writing.

Topics covered include the basics of French grammar, vocabulary related to family, common polite expressions, as well as the skills needed for basic interactions such as introducing oneself or requesting and providing personal information (e.g., registering at the municipal library).

Activities include playful role-plays simulating everyday situations, listening comprehension exercises, and a final project where students present a family photo, putting into practice what they have learned throughout the course.

Important Note:

  1. You must complete the self-assessment exam before registering. Click here to access the exam.
