This introductory course aligns with and supports the elementary course curriculum. It provides a systematic and detailed approach to understanding the common meanings of the evolution of Chinese characters and their radicals. Six Traditional Categories of Chinese Characters will be introduced to assist students in memorizing and recognizing characters. (Section I)
Prerequisites or prior knowledge Learning Objectives By the end of the course, students will:
- Character Recognition & Comprehension – Recognize 160 characters and 500 common words while understanding their meanings and contextual usage in 75 sentences.
- Writing & Stroke Mastery – Learn to count writing strokes, understand their significance, and accurately demonstrate character writing.
- Character Formation & Development – Decode the methods of Chinese character formation and track character development over time.
