Prerequisite: Working knowledge of the Windows platform and drafting background

In this course, students are introduced to AutoCAD’s interface and trained to use their existing drafting skills in the new environment. Constant reference to conventional manual practices highlights the advantages of computer-aided design.

Topics include: data entry methods; AutoCAD entities; AutoCAD’s editing commands; display features; inquiry, utility and system variables; understanding layers; using colours and linetypes; creation of variable line widths; cross hatching and pattern filling; AutoCAD’s annotation capabilities; dimensioning and plotting.

Required Material: 2 GB (or higher) Flash (USB) Drive

Eligibility:

You are eligible to take these courses if you are:

• a seasonal worker who is not currently working, but retains ties with his/her employer;
• self-employed;
• overqualified for the position you currently hold and the course is relevant to your area of study.

You are not eligible to take these courses if you are:

• employed in the public or para-public sector;
• a full-time student;
• unemployed and/or receiving employment insurance or welfare;
• receiving CSST (worker's compensation) from the SAAQ.

Maximum of two (2) courses per person.
Maximum of three (3) registrations per establishment.
