| Impressionist Watercolour Painting (310010-1) | From May 16th to Jul 11th, 2019 Thursday 18:00 to 21:00, room 3B.23 Laboratory - 3D Studio Group number S19-310010-1
Inspired by the painting styles of Monet, Cezanne, Sisley and others, the watercolour medium will be explored through a spontaneous, direct approach to the subject matter. Using both traditional and experimental watercolour techniques, and working from images and life, students will be encouraged to capture their "perceptual impression" of landscapes, still life, floral, gardens and café settings. Materials: About $100 Bring to first class:- Three (3) tubes in the primary colours (i.e., red, yellow, and blue) of artist-quality watercolour paints (Stevenson, Holbein, Winsor & Newton). Suggested colours: permanent rose, aureolin yellow, cobalt blue, and/or cadmium red deep, new gamboge yellow, ultramarine blue. OR Van Gogh are fairly good quality for the price – alizarin crimson, lemon yellow, ultramarine blue.
- Two (2) or three (3) sheets of 11” x 14” Arches cold-pressed watercolour paper or equivalent.
- Two (2) or three (3) round brushes of various sizes.
- Large flat brush.
- Palette, two (2) containers for water, paper towels, water spray bottle.
Additional materials required:Additional watercolours, watercolour block and various supports such as canvasses, papers, etc. (to be discussed at the first class).
