Prerequisite: completion of Français Échelle Québécoise level 6 or equivalent.

This 100-hour course, designed for adults, corresponds to level 7 of the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français.

The aim of the course is to enable adults to become functional in increasingly complex communication situations, while acquiring a fine-tuned understanding of the mechanisms of oral and written language.

Emphasis is placed on both the development of language skills and oral production, in contexts linked to current needs and concrete themes.

Topics covered in this course include:

  • Education and the world of work: learners will exchange information on training courses, take part in selection interviews and telephone conversations, write covering letters and CVs, in a school and professional context.
  • Housing and living: this theme will enable learners to find out about buying or renting a home.
  • Current affairs: learners will exchange opinions and information on topical issues, analyze opinion texts, and formulate and justify their points of view, particularly in blogs or open letters.
  • Culture: learners will find out about cultural practices, comment on works and events, summarize and analyze them.
