Overall Goals:1. Designed for students who have no knowledge of Russian, this course will present the basic structures of the Russian language with emphasis on communication while paying attention to grammar and building up vocabulary.
2. Through a variety of exercises for practice individually, with a partner or in groups, students will be able to communicate in common situations of their everyday life. Students learn basic dialogues, useful expressions, basic survival phrases, and are exposed to basic Russian grammar and cultural information.
Intended Learning Outcomes:By the end of this course, students will be able to:
Carry on a simple conversation in Russian and to communicate with basic written messages.
