Methodolgy:
1. Chinese phonetic system: PIN YIN
2. Basic grammar:
• Verbs: to be; to be at; from-where
• Questions with “shui”; yes-no questions
• Express negation
• Simple measure words
• Adverbials of time
• Reduplication of verbs
3. Basic strokes of Chinese characters
4. Vocabulary applied to the following topics:
• Introducing and greeting
• Talking about occupations, nationalities, ages, etc.
• Ordinal numbers

Required Material:
• Headphones and an external microphone
• High speed stable internet connection
• Access to a computer with a minimum of Windows 7 or Mac G5
• Book: (when ordering textbooks online at amazon.ca, make sure they are delivered before the class)
